How do I activate Smartlock?
Activating Smartlock
Smartlock makes your Stromer even smarter: your bike locks and unlocks automatically when you approach or leave. There is no need to press a button. If Smartlock stops working, you can quickly fix it by reconnecting your Stromer with the OMNI app. Follow the steps below to get it working again:
Requirements
- Smartphone with Stromer OMNI app installed
- OMNI C or OMNI B basic with connectivity upgrade required, software version 4.5.0.3 or newer
1. Remove Stromer from your phone
- Open OMNI app → Smartlock → Disconnect/Unlink → OK
- Go to Bluetooth settings → remove your Stromer
- Android: Unpair
- iPhone: Ignore this device
2. Remove connection from your Stromer
- Switch OMNI App → On (if not already on)
- Under Devices → remove your phone if still listed

3. Reconnect
- In OMNI app → Smartlock → Configuration/Theft protection
- On Stromer → Menu → Bluetooth → OMNI App → Devices → New pairing drag embedded assetpublishedbluetooth omni app devices

- In OMNI app → Connect → Select your Stromer → Confirm
Trouble shooting: If you can't reconnect your bike, restart your Stromer and try again.
4. Using Smartlock
- App must be open (background is sufficient)
- Bike must be switched on
- Set distance in OMNI app: Close (1–2 m), Medium (3–5 m), Far (7–10 m)
That’s it! Your Stromer is now ready to lock and unlock automatically again when you get on or off.
How do I activate Smart.Shift Pre.Select?
Activating Smart.Shift Pre.Select
With software update 4.5.1.3, we introduced Pre.Select, a semi-automatic shifting mode. In this mode, your Stromer automatically shifts to the gear best suited to your current speed when you’re coasting without pedaling. This way, the correct gear is ready when you start pedaling again.
Requirements
- Stromer Bike with Pinion Smart.Shift
Additional information
- You can adjust your preferred cadence individually.
- The configured start gear from Start.Select is also taken into account.
- Manual shifting remains possible at any time.
How to activate
Go to:
MENU → BIKE → SMART.SHIFT → PRE.SELECT

What does the range of an e-bike mean and what influences it?
The range of an e-bike, meaning how far you can ride on a single battery charge, is influenced by many factors. These include the rider’s weight, the terrain (such as hills and elevation changes), the surface (asphalt, gravel, wet or dry), weather conditions (wind, rain, temperature), and tire pressure. The level of motor assistance, selected gear, pedaling cadence, riding style, average speed, riding position, and the number of stops per trip also play a role. Even the condition of wear-and-tear components and the age and capacity of the battery can significantly affect the range. The more efficiently you ride, the farther you’ll go.
How can I activate and deactivate the Autolock function of my Stromer e-bike?
Activating and deactivating the Autolock function in the Stromer OMNI app
You can activate and deactivate the Autolock function of your Stromer e-bike via the Stromer OMNI app.
To activate Autolock, open “SETTINGS”/“AUTOLOCK” in the Stromer OMNI app and set a timer. The minimum period that can be set at the timer is three minutes.
If you have activated the Autolock function by app, here you can set a time after which your Stromer is automatically locked once you have parked it. To unlock it, enter your PIN in the touchscreen when you switch on the bike.
Note:
Autolock can only be activated via the Stromer OMNI app. Users without an app can lock the Stromer bike directly via the touchscreen.
If you ride off on a locked bike, after a short time the anti-theft mode is activated.
If Autolock is not activated, the bike is automatically switched off if it remains inactive for 5 minutes without being locked.
How-to-video:
Why does the Stromer OMNI app show the incorrect location of my bike?
Stromer OMNI: Incorrect location display
The localization of a Stromer Speed Pedelec with an OMNI Interface C works using GNSS (GPS & GLONASS) as well as mobile communications (2G/3G).
If a GNSS position can be determined while the bike is switched on, this is transmitted to and displayed in the Stromer OMNI app. The currently valid GNSS position is visualized on the OMNI Interface C by means of a white pin icon in the status bar.
If no GNSS position can be determined, instead the position of the cell tower that is currently being used by the OMNI Interface is shown, if known. A currently valid mobile communications position is visualized on the OMNI Interface by means of a gray pin icon in the status bar.
With the position of the cell tower, however, it is not possible to determine the precise location of the bike. The Stromer OMNI app currently does not show a visualization of whether it is displaying a GNSS or a mobile communications position.
Before transmitting the GNSS position, OMNI firmware versions 4.1.3.3 to 4.2.3.8 validate whether this is within the transmission range of the currently used cell tower. If this is not the case, the position of the cell tower is transmitted. From firmware version 4.2.4.6, this validation is no longer performed as there is no guarantee that the position of the cell tower is correct.
